Romil Benyamino’s passion for writing and his love for his people has inspired him to donate 500 copies of his children’s book, Sahra (Moon) to the Assyrian Aid Society of America for distribution in the Homeland. It is a gift to remind every Assyrian child that we remember them and support their educational endeavors.

Natalie Babella, President of the AAS-A Santa Clara Valley Chapter, will personally deliver the books to our young students in the Assyrian schools when she travels to Iraq later this month.

“I have finished another Assyrian children’s story, plus a collection of humorous rhymes,” according to Mr. Benyamino. “Slowly, I’m working on their artwork.” Aside from his career as a
scientist, Romil currently spends most of his free time composing short stories and says he has begun writing his first book in English. “That doesn’t mean I’ll stop my Assyrian activities since as long as I’m doing art, I’ll be sure to set time aside to create something for my people. I love doing that.”

You can read more about Mr. Benyamino on Facebook and follow him on his blog at www.romilography.tumblr.com. His book can be purchased from www.benyamino.com.
