On the evening of Saturday, August 23, 2008, in the Rogers Theater of the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, California, there was music in the air. And magic.

Few who experienced it will ever forget it.

Now you can experience it, too. And for those who were there, here is your opportunity to own a true treasure from that very special evening: “Mesopotamian Night: Melodies from the East” captured in full sound and video on DVD and CD.

It was the second in the Central Valley chapter’s annual Mesopotamian Nights series of fundraising spectaculars featuring music, singing, dance, food, and all manner of delights. This particular evening showcased an exciting program of Assyrian symphonic music, opera, ballet, folk, and popular songs. Soprano Lorraine Davis, the Townsend Opera Players, and the Central West Ballet Company performed.

The evening roared to a close with Assyrian pop music megastars Walter Aziz and Ashur Bet Sargis, each sharing the stage for the first time in their careers with a 22-piece band led by Assurhadoun Khofri and including today’s leading Assyrian musicians: Tiglat Issabey, piano; David Betsamo, keyboard; Ninos Kikho, guitar; Allen George, bass; Ronick Ital, percussion; Robert Noghli, drums; and Music Director Pierre Noghli, also on drums.

It was indeed an unforgettable night of magic.

And all of it captured by a Los Angeles film crew of 22 video and sound professionals who volunteered their time and talent to record this unbelievable event for you. Since then they have been working to create what will certainly be a valuable addtion to your home music and video collection.
